Richard A. Bloxdorf, MHA – Administrator

Rick has been involved in Erie area health care delivery for over 13 years in physicians’ practice and hospital settings. He holds a Masters degree in Health Care Administration with a concentration in Strategic Planning and is an active member of the Pennsylvania Ambulatory Surgery Association (Serving as President 2006 – 2008; Current Member at Large), ASC Association, Medical Group Management Association (Ambulatory Surgery Management Society). He is responsible for daily Clinical and Business operations of the Center, ensuring that all policies and procedures are implemented and followed by all members of the Center. Rick’s community involvement has included: Board Member of the American Heart Association, Leadership Committee for 2010 Heart Gala, 2010 Chairperson for the Open Your Heart Campaign, past board member for the Office of Children and Youth.

John Desser, RN, CNOR – Clinical Nurse Manager

John has been with Village SurgiCenter since its creation. He was instrumental in the development of clinical protocols and the planning and procurement of the facility’s cutting edge technology. A lifelong resident of the Erie community, he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing from Gannon University’s Villa College. During the past 15 years, John has continually honed his operating room and management skills at area hospitals. He holds certifications in OR, Trauma, Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). John supervises, directs, analyzes, and evaluates all nursing care given to patients, as well as controlling materials, supplies and equipment needed for successful facility operations.

Bonnie Sturdivant – Business Office Manager

Bonnie is the newest addition to our management team. She holds an associate’s degree in accounting coupled with 20 years of billing and business management experience, the past 8 years concentrating in health care. Bonnie’s expertise in Business operations provides the support required to ensure efficient scheduling, coding, billing, and collections for our staff. Bonnie also manages Human Resource functions, the integrity of medical records, and provides administrative support all business office activities. Bonnie community involvement included; Member of Erie Business Center’s Advisory Board; March of Dimes – “WalkAmerica”; and Relay for Life.
